How this blog began

This blog began in May of 2009 when I received notice of our 50th high school class reunion.  I began thinking that it would be fun to have a central place to post information about the upcoming reunion.  As I started receiving information about some of the classmates I realized my memory was a little foggy in putting names with faces.  Out of that grew the idea of putting together a slide show of our high school senior pictures followed by a picture of ourselves as we look today.  It would be a way of getting reacquainted prior to the reunion itself.
In our many years of moving around I had not kept my year books but in emailing Ruben Sanchez, he graciously offered to scan all of our pictures from our senior "El Solano" and even dug out photos from prior books.   It provided wonderful memories for me as he started sending page after page of pictures.  Then as others learned of the blog they began sending current photos of themselves. 
The page grew as more information was added to it and added to the excitement that led up to our wonderful reunion in September.
Afterwards, I realized I just didn't want to let go of the good times we shared during the reunion so I came home and added reunion pictures and old photos that had now spread out to three pages.  I would love to see us continue to keep in touch as the months and years go by.  Karen Herwick McFarland
